Hampton and Erica are college sweethearts who met their first day at Samford University. He is a Birmingham native and she had just moved across the country from southern California, so Hampton took her to see the best view of the city. When I first met these two for coffee to discuss their wedding details, it felt like hanging out with old friends. We had lots of mutual connections through Samford and Erica + I bonded over our shared degree in journalism.
We celebrated this precious couple on a breezy September weekend at Swann Lake Stables, which holds a special place in my heart because that was my wedding venue 3 years prior. Erica wore a stunning dress from Ivory & White and walked down the aisle to All Things New. Their ceremony was intentional and holy, with personal vows, tears, and a few laughs. They ended their perfect day with the most epic sparkler send-off on the back of Hampton’s beloved truck.
Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Dortch!
